Banana Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 26, 2026

Banana is built so that your data stays yours. Banana has no user accounts, and Abrega operates no servers for it. We do not collect, receive, sell, or share your personal data. There are no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking of any kind in the app.

Where your data lives.

Everything you do in Banana — your schedule, routines, podcast subscriptions and listening progress, voice notes, workouts, and settings — is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your personal private iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit private database, iCloud Drive, and iCloud key-value storage) so your own iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac stay in sync. That data is protected by your Apple ID; Abrega has no access to it. Banana can also transfer podcast files directly between your own devices over your local network using an encrypted connection; those transfers never leave your network.

Calendars and reminders.

With your permission, Banana reads your calendars and reminders to build your daily plan, and can write events (such as availability blocks) back to calendars you choose. This data is processed on your device.

Health and workouts.

With your permission, Banana reads workout and health metrics from Apple Health and saves workouts you record on Apple Watch back to Apple Health. Health data is used only to show and analyze your own fitness inside the app. It is never used for advertising or marketing, is never disclosed to third parties, and never leaves your devices and your private iCloud account.

Location.

With your permission, Banana uses your location to estimate travel times, show relevant weather, and (optionally) remember where you were while listening. Locations you save (such as home or work) are stored on your device and in your private iCloud. Weather forecasts are requested from weather providers using approximate coordinates without any account or advertising identifier attached; travel-time estimates are provided by Apple Maps under Apple's privacy terms.

Microphone and voice notes.

With your permission, Banana records voice notes when you ask it to. Recordings are transcribed on your device. Notes and their transcripts are stored on your device and in your private iCloud.

Podcasts.

Banana downloads podcast feeds, episodes, and artwork directly from each podcast publisher's servers. As with any web request, the publisher or its hosting provider sees standard connection information such as your IP address. Abrega is not involved in and does not observe these requests.

Diagnostics.

Diagnostic logs remain on your devices. Banana does not send crash reports or usage data to Abrega. If you choose to share Apple's standard analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us aggregate, anonymized crash information under Apple's terms.

Retention and deletion.

Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete individual items in the app, revoke any permission in system Settings at any time, remove iCloud data via the app or your iCloud settings, and remove all local data by deleting the app.

Children.

Banana is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
